Description
Cartizze Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze Dry DOCG is a real gem of Italian winemaking, derived from the small but remarkable Cartizze cru in the center of Valdobbiadene DOCG. Excellent Glera grapes produced by this unusual geo-climatic mix yield a delicate and expressive sparkling wine.
Hand-harvested from vineyards at 200–300 meters above sea level, the grapes are gently pressed, then subjected to stationary decantation and fermentation at 15–18°C. The wine then develops on fine lees for three months, deepening and complexing it. Secondary fermentation using the Charmat Method lasts about 50 days and lets the wine acquire its characteristic smoothness and balance.
White flowers, ripe pear, and citrus overtones abound in this brilliant straw yellow color with delicate, persistent perlage. The palate is round and velvety, providing a subtle sweetness balanced by fresh acidity, thereby producing a lengthy and harmonic finish.
Perfect for sophisticated aperitifs, it complements shellfish, fresh cheeses, and light desserts and is a flexible and respectable choice for formal events.
