Description
Made from Cesanese grapes spanning many vineyard ages, La Faiola Rosso IGT Cesanese Lazio is a refined and expressive organic red wine. The vinification and aging procedure gently balance these qualities to produce a fresh but sophisticated expression of Cesanese.
Fermentation occurs at regulated temperatures, followed by mild pressing. A harmonic and aromatic profile is then obtained from the wine’s four months in cement vats, four months in 700L tonneaux, and four more months in the bottle.
Ruby crimson in color, it releases aromas of tobacco, loquat, and ripe plum. While the tannins are soft and enveloping, producing a residual, refined finish, the palate is fresh with balanced sapidity and minerality.
Organic Winemaking Approach
The winery follows a certified organic farming method that prioritizes sustainability and environmental respect. Chemical herbicides are entirely avoided, with only mechanical methods used for weed control. In the vineyard, natural treatments like algae extracts and nettle infusions replace synthetic substances, while biodiversity is actively preserved, ensuring a balanced ecosystem. The result is a low-impact cultivation that enhances both the quality of the grapes and the health of the environment.
