Description
Made from carefully chosen old-vine grapes, this Montepulciano Riserva is a powerful and deep wine that is matured for 30 months in enormous barrels of Slavonian oak before being refined for 12 months in bottles.
Its richness is hinted at by its deep, nearly black ruby color. With layers of ripe fruit, pipe tobacco, cinnamon, dates, carob, and toasty spices, the nose is broad and changing, eventually transitioning to ethereal notes. With a progression of freshness, firm tannins, and savory complexity, the palate is full-bodied and structured. It ends with a long, exquisite, and incredibly gratifying finish that has lingering notes of dried cherries and grape jam.
A sophisticated, age-worthy red that will keep evolving for ten to fifteen years following harvest.
